We had a very happy 4th of July (although it was very hot!). Gramma and Grampa drove up from Illinois right after Gramma got off work. They made it just in time to head to the parade with us. We found a shady spot back away from the parade, but it was perfect for Grampa and Brady to hang out and still be close to the action. Gramma, Mommy and I stood up at the parade so I could get lots of candy. Daddy went back and forth between us and the shade. He even held Grampa's big golf umbrella to help keep us cool.
After the parade we went to Marketplace Restaurant to eat some breakfast/lunch and cool off. Then it was home for naps. It was so hot that we skipped grilling and got take out for dinner. We kept cool with water balloons.
Brady went to bed early, but I stayed up for the big fireworks. We only did a few small ones in our backyard this year because it has been so dry. We watched the Oak Creek fireworks from our deck. They didn't last very long though because a grass fire started. We heard the fire truck sirens and saw a big orange glow and the fireworks were cancelled. :(
Everyone was safe and the fire was put out quickly. Overall, it was a very Happy 4th!
